From the many pages of the Tenach (Old Testament) we find many instances of where Israel rebelled against G-ds commands, and his instruction to them. Our ancestors of Israel had G-ds very word reiterated to them over and over again, and yet they still failed to obey and follow G-d. But what does Israel have to do with today’s rebellious Christians? The decision to obediently follow G-ds word is every Christians own responsibility, but when the word has been made clear to a Christian, and a Christian still willfully chooses to rebel against G-ds word they are just plainly in sin. Just as G-d disciplined Israel when it had sinned against him, the same will happen to any Christian who chooses to rebel against G-d. Here a something to meditate on.

G-d continually seeks to cause his people to follow his word of truth, but yet many still choose to follow their own sinful ways.

Yishayahu. Isa.65:2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walks in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;

G-d says watch out! When you choose to rebel against him by choosing to take counsel which is not of G-d. Which is tantamount to or following errant men who themselves are in sin and teach it as the counsel of G-d.

Yishayahu. Isa.30:1 Woe to the rebellious children, says Yahveh, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

 Rejecting and resisting following and doing the word of G-d is tantamount to the sins of witchcraft, iniquity and idolatry.

1stSh’muel. 1Sam.15:22-23 And Sh’mu’el said, Has Yahveh great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 23For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
